What is SEO content?
Google's job is to answer searches. It can only do that with pages that exist. If nobody has written a clear page about what to do after hail damages a roof, Google has nothing good to show when someone in your area searches exactly that. SEO content is the practice of making sure your website has the useful pages your customers are looking for, written for them first and for search engines second.
The important word is useful. Content written only to contain keywords helps no one and, these days, tends to be ignored or penalized. Content that genuinely answers a question earns both the customer's trust and Google's attention.
Why it matters
Most small business websites have a homepage, a services page and a contact page. That covers people who already know they want you. It does nothing for the much larger group who are still figuring out their problem: "why is my AC blowing warm air", "how much does a fence cost", "do I need a permit for a patio". Those people become customers of whoever helped them first.
Kinds of content that work for local businesses
- Service pages. One clear page per real service, written the way customers describe the need.
- Educational articles. Straight answers to the questions you get asked on the phone every week.
- Problem and solution pages. "Water heater making noise" leads naturally to your repair service.
- FAQs. Short, honest answers that also earn rich results in search.
- Location-specific content. Where there is something genuine to say about an area you serve. See local SEO.
- Refreshing existing copy. Often the fastest win: a page that already ranks a little, improved to rank properly.
What Secret Systems does
Under Growth Starter we create new content or refresh existing pages each month based on what will help most: what customers ask you, what Search Console shows people searching, and where competitors are answering questions you are not. We write in plain English, in your voice, and we check facts with you before anything about your services goes live.
Example. A roofing company gets a page answering "What should I do after hail damages my roof?" It walks through documenting damage, contacting insurance, and when to call a roofer. It helps a stressed homeowner, and it gives Google relevant content to surface for a search that happens after every storm.
What we will not write
We do not publish pages that exist only to contain a keyword, thin town pages with the city name swapped, or articles padded to a word count. If a topic is not worth a page, we say so and spend the effort elsewhere.
How it fits into Growth Starter
What we do not promise
- We do not guarantee rankings, traffic or leads. No honest provider can.
- We do not promise a fixed number of articles per month; some months one strong page beats three weak ones.
- We do not produce filler content solely for search engines.
Frequently asked questions
It depends on what will help. Some months the best move is refreshing two existing pages; other months it is one substantial new page. The monthly report shows exactly what was created or changed.
We ask you short questions before writing and confirm facts about pricing, process or guarantees before anything goes live. You always see service content before customers do.
Useful ones do, when they answer questions your customers genuinely search. Generic posts written for volume do not. We only write pages that have a job.
Please do. The questions customers ask you on the phone are usually the best content ideas we could have.
